From the latest issue of Science News:
Scientist have tested 70 year old whale oil from the Charles W. Morgan of Mystic, CT. They found PCB's and similar chemicals. What is striking is that they concluded these chemicals are naturally occuring since man did not yet begin producing them 70 years ago. Once again, man is not the culprit! In the same issue: It appears that Global Warming is occuring on Mars. Evidence of rapid climate fluctuations have been observed by the Mars Reconaissance Orbiter (MRO) satellite. Scientists claim man is not responsible for the warming on Mars and they are using the data to correlate climate change on the earth. The sun, cosmic rays and space environment is what the Earth and Mars share in common. Environmentalists counter that man produced greenhouse gases are escaping the earth and surrounding Mars. They also claim that some of the greenhouse gases in their transit toward Mars entered wormholes, traveled back in time and caused the global warming seen on earth millions of years in the past before man even existed. |

Did not rule out possibility of wormholes aboard the Charles W. Morgan, though. I guess the bug spraying would have prevented the wormholes. That's odd. I read the same article and it said that PCB's, as made
by Monsanto, were not found. There were trace amounts of HOC's (halogenated organic compounds) but not PCB's or DDT. The original work on naturally occurring HOC's was actually published in February, this is confirming follow up based on the Charles W. Morgan oil. It is not known yet if the chemical found are toxic. Gilligan wrote: From the latest issue of Science News: Scientist have tested 70 year old whale oil from the Charles W. Morgan of Mystic, CT. Once again, man is not the culprit! They found substances "similar" to PCB's and others. The concentrations present were extremely low, and could have even come from the lab that did the testing. It really doesn't mean much by itself. Even synthesized compounds come from ingredients found in nature. Where else would you get them? CWM Since you seem to have your hot tub chemistry down pat, I'll take your word on this. |
