Guess you did not make up the rumor, so your a sucker who feel for it.

Today at Fiesta supermarket here I bought a 4oz jar of Vegemite for
3.95 just to see what was so good about the stuff that you OZer would
throw such a hissy fit..

Why in the world anyone would miss this salty dead yeast soey sauce

I learned to hate that crap years ago, when I was in the South Pacific.
Even then I saw no way could I ever develop a taste for it.

I agree it's pretty nasty stuff. I'm open to trying all kinds of exotic
foods and that comes near the top of the yuck factor. Almost as bad as
the Octapuss on a stick you can buy from street vendors in Hong Kong.
I'd rather eat a dozen balut and penoy eggs before a jar of Vegemite.
