I'd like to know how it sails in heavy weather. One concern I have with centerboards is that they move and if they move, there is going to be friction and wear. My centerboard..4.5' up 11' down has a monel tube on the board and 3" pin that runs thru the trunk. Then it has 1" thick riding chocks in the trunk to keep it from doing any wobbeling side to side. Plus it's 1" thick plate steel with close to 40 yrs in the water it looks like it will last another 100 min. Joe, that's less than 2 hours! another 100 years minimum. Joe |
