Default Island Packet missed the Boat

Here's the new boat from IP....

http://www.hellieryachts.com/article...er_Sail_02.jpg

I think they wandered a bit too far away from sailing with this design.
There's no outside steering station (except for remote AP), no attempt
at a traveler.....
I love PH type designs. I just wish someone would make one more suited
for faster sailing. Some of those Cooper yachts were closer.

I like that design. I've been leaning to get a trawler for the big boat, but
I'm going to check that IP out. I may have to put aspirations on the
Nordhaven aside.

1) No dual helm is a mistake.

2) You'll never buy a big boat.

3) You'll never ever buy an Island Packet.

A number of trawlers have dual helms. It all depends on how the boat is used
whether a second helm is required.

2) You'll never buy a big boat.

What makes you say that?

3) You'll never ever buy an Island Packet.

This may or may not be true. What is the basis for your assertion?

What boats do I currently own?

Certainly, if you can predict the future with such accuracy describing the
present should be a piece of cake.

How old do you think I am?

Reality. You will NEVER own a Island Packet.

I didn't like it either when I saw it. But, I bet it catches
on and becomes a popular design.

What kind of main do you want? Cross cut? Radial? And pref on fabrics?
Do you want max roach, or just a copy of the original sail? Were there
any rig-size options on the 295?
I seriously doubt you have any plan to buy a new main of course.
