Duh! I think you got it backwards. I nautical mile equals 1.15 statute miles.
Nautical mile is longer not shorter.

yep, sorry. The number is correct 1451 nm - 1 statute miles =
0.868976242 nautical miles

Which is closet to a true nautical mile at the equator:

1. A nm that runs north to south
or
2. A nm that runs east to west?

How could he get it correct when he has is backwards? Something smells fishy here....
I sure wouldn't award a point to somebody who gives out the wrong conversion. If he used his
own conversion he would've gotten it wrong. Duh! He obviously cheated.
