I don't think she will be either. I hope it's not Kerry again. I'd like to
see Gore take another shot, but I doubt that as well.

You dems, liberals, and rob just keep bitching....do nothing to find
an alternative to hillery to support.... and them Republicans can
expect a victory in 2008 no matter who runs against her.

You, Doug, and others all seem to believe that Hillarious will be the
"blue" candidate in '08. I'm far from convinced of that, and believe it
to be less likely every day. That last polls I've seen appear to support
my belief.

So, you're now planning to vote for Hillary in 2008?

Vote for the best....what will the dems and liberal offer?

Depends.
If you listen to them, they offer a lot, like practical ways
o fix Social Security.

If you listen to hate-talk radio, the "radical leftist
elitists" (by which they apparently mean the entire
Democratic Party and the non-fascist wings of the Republican
Party) then there is nothing to hope for except maybe a
militaristic coup by the Bush Administration (only problem
there, the military doesn't like him, either).

Only reason I voted for Bush was because Kerry was running against him.

And the only reason you think Kerry was so bad is that you
are hypnotized by the constant stream of spiteful slander
against him.

Funny thing how "Swift-Boating" has become a political verb
in this country. How long do you think it's going to take
voters to catch on? Of course, some spotted it for the
sleazy tactic that it is immediately. Othere will probably
always fall for it.

Actually there are lots of alternatives.

The dems would be wise to run someone like Evan Bayh, former governor of
Indiana. He's perceived as a centrist, but his voting record tends to be
left of center. Clean cut, good looking, well-spoken, and his father was a
pillar of the democratic party of the 60s. Even Barak Obama of Illinois
would be a better choice than Gore, who is generally considered damaged
goods since his defeat in 2000.

I don't think I would include Bill in that list. He did a lot for the
country.

Like what?

I don't have much info about Hillary, except that she seems to be pretty
pro-military and moderate.

A ruse. She's clever enough to realize that a hardline left winger can't
get elected, so she's been doing a commendable job of redefining herself as
a centrist. Her "pro-military" stance is one such maneuver.

Of course, it's not likely you'll hear that from the right. :-) We need to
have a clear choice from both sides of the isle. Hillary and McCain would
be a good match up.

How can we forget Bush. He's practically ruined this country.

Fortunately the country is far more resilient than the gloom and doom
crowd seem to believe. But even resiliency can be tested if we continue
to elect political hacks like W, Kerry, Gore, W. J. Clinton, or Hillary.
McCain would be a definite improvement over the run-of-the-mill
politicians we generally get to choose from.

I'd like to see Edwards go again. I liked him better than Kerry. Definitely
like Obama, but he's not quite ready.

Our governor here in VA, Mark Warner, wants to go for it. He's a good
governor...not as flashy as Edwards,,is pretty down-to-earth nice guy....

Edwards is a trial lawyer. You can kiss tort reform goodbye if he ever
occupies the White House.

Obama is a fresh face and about as articulate as anyone in Washington these
days. He's also black, but with almost no overriding black mannerisms,
which would not appeal, of course, to the redneck side of the country, but
it wouldn't offend them quite as much. You may be right--he might need more
seasoning to become thoroughly corrupt like most Washington politicos.
