Hey, Ringmaster....
Doesn't sound like the same boat. The "Mistral" I saw was on the cover of the rigger's catalog with a long list of racing enhancements. It sounds like you're very confused. The info I posted was right from his e-mail sent to me last week. He doesn't even have an upgraded backstay adjuster, which is a basic upgrade. Maybe you mean this boat, which is indeed a winning boat with heavy upgrades...? http://www.somersetsails.com/sails/Beneteau__35S5.jpg There is also a very tricked out 35s5 that recently took a lot of silver in the UK. The only thing I see tricked out about Mistral is her UK sails she races with. In any case, I've listed a bunch of 35s5's that win. I bet most have good gear and sails...kinda makes sense. If you want to win with crappy sails and gear, buy a Catalina 30. RB 35s5 NY |
Hey, Ringmaster....
Jeff, this 35s5 is tricked out: Final Race results: Eric Blanckaert gains Quadrasolo the Atlantic 2005 Eric Blanckaert on board his First 35s5 Lainé Undertaken signed last weekend his first victory in Quadrasolo. A beautiful reward this customer faithful of our sail making which, hitherto, had often trusté the places of honor but had ever triumphed in the test. Foto of winner http://nsweb.itinfo.dk/nspublish/upl.../Boat_35s5.jpg From what I understand he faired the keel and runs with the very best gear and sails. And he wins. This really worries you? Dude, I don't even race. The rat poison is for Sloco! Shhh! Here he comes! RB 35s5 NY |
Hey, Ringmaster....
Bob, you need to post some of your own winnings, that will

Can you explain why Mistral, a Beneteau 35s5 has the following race record? Overall Winner, Regatta Time in Abacos 2003........ Frank Boettcher wrote: Only crew able to say sober the entire series? I wonder how drunk Doug was when his wife wrote out a check for a trawler. RB 35s5 NY |

Five letters Bob: PHRF C Know what the "C" means? I don't think the Boobster knows what PHRF is. He clearly has no concept of handicap racing since he keeps referring to "boat-for-boat." Maybe he thinks it's just a generic macho phrase? Jeff wrote: Has anyone else noticed that almost every 35s5 victory that RB cites is actually the same boat and skipper. Never cared enough to notice, frankly. The guy who owned the Beneteau 35s5 in our marina took very good care of the boat, and is a good sailor, but wasn't interested in racing. They have a Jeanneau now and say it's a much better boat in every way. BTW, are you claiming that the best racers prefer the 4 foot wheel? Most racers that have a lick of sense prefer a tiller, unless they're yuppy J-105 drivers. PS for DSK: I'm on a mooring next to a Herreshoff S-Boat. Pics to follow. Cool! Looking forward to the pics, I like Hadley's Harbor... is the fleet of gaff rigged H-12s still there? I bet it's crowded this time of year. Fresh Breezes- Doug King |

Nutsy, I see 3 adults in your "So Called;---HUGE COCKPIT" It looks pretty full to me. I do see the Helms Man standing behind the Wheel and not on the seat http://community.webtv.net/tassail/ThomPage |

Doug, who's never even owned a nice cruising sailboat like my 35s5 or C&C 32 is now.... The King of PHRF!!!!! Bow down, mere mortals!!!! Doug thinks "boat fo boat" is a strict PHRF term? Or does it just mean a "slower" 35s5 beat an Express 35 across the finish, and not just in adjusted time???? Doug King of PHRF!!!!!
