This was an interesting story... I'd call it sad rather than interesting... sad for the boat, that is ... barely missing, jibing, and heading out where you can't go, they ended up as shown. Turns out they were all drunk. They did considerable damage to the boat, since where they grounded is all rock. When you're going to crash-land, the key point is to pick a soft spot. Drunk and stupid... wouldn't listen to advice from anyone, even after they sobered up. Didn't they see the movie Animal House? Serious advice: "Son, drunk & stupid is no way to go thru life." ...They finally managed to get off the bottom on Sunday night when we had a 6.5 high tide about 10:15 or so. Holy moly, they were there 24 hours? Lucky they were able to make it to work Monday morning. DSK |
