This was an interesting story... happened Saturday night about 10:30. They
obviously didn't bother to look at a chart or they would have seen it
clearly marked as "ruins." Beside, they were going about 8 kts, according to
a friend who was watching the whole thing from their boat. At first, my
friend was concerned that they were going to hit his boat... they were that
out of control. Then, barely missing, jibing, and heading out where you
can't go, they ended up as shown. Turns out they were all drunk. They did
considerable damage to the boat, since where they grounded is all rock.
Drunk and stupid... wouldn't listen to advice from anyone, even after they
sobered up. They finally managed to get off the bottom on Sunday night when
we had a 6.5 high tide about 10:15 or so.

I'd call it sad rather than interesting... sad for the boat,
that is

When you're going to crash-land, the key point is to pick a
soft spot.

Didn't they see the movie Animal House?
Serious advice: "Son, drunk & stupid is no way to go thru life."

Holy moly, they were there 24 hours? Lucky they were able to
make it to work Monday morning.

If they had just taken the advice of my friend right after the grounding,
they might have made it off right then. They were still at about high tide,
and the next high tides weren't high enough.
