Also read today they are developing a better system that causes air to
bubble of the top of the main foil when it is at the desired height,
better than the wand system, same as used on USN hydrofoils. The
bubbles effect lift and are developed with an induction system using
ventura principals and air valves.

Then they'll need to race them on fltered lakes so the valves don't
get crap in em...

The induction will not happen until the suction pipe is out of the
water. They want the pipe full of air so there is no delay, some how
they have a airvalve controlling it. Rohan knows all about it, it's on
his blog, it the foil development forum.

You mean the system that the Navy gave up as too expensive &
cantankerous? Of course, the navy's hydrofoil program
sputtered to a halt in the early 1980s, technology has moved
forward since then.

No no, they'll put a filter in the system so that as the
boat sails, it is actually producing cleaner water. Then the
gov't will subsidize racing them on all major bodies ofwater
as an anti-pollution measure.

Now *that* be cool!

Where is that?
Should make a good read.
Had a system on a boat years ago that sucked air in under the hull at
planing speeds that had us riding on an air cushion..it was banned :-)

Opps it's not his blog but the Moth Au. site

Top section on hydrafoils
