Geeze;

Come off it Jon,
You of all people:^) What you're saying, is you very seldom have rough conditions? those white caps on the SF Bay is calm sailing? You're telling us that capsize you posted to us WASN"T rough conditions. Think you better consider your post agreeing with the Nutsy. Even he doesn't believe ROUGH means no wind. I think the only one he's convunced is YOU! http://community.webtv.net/tassail/ThomPage |

Thom, don't talk about things you don't understand. I'm a former animal handler and my father was a HS lecturer on herpetology for 12 years ICW the NY Zoological Society. I have 1st hand experience with venomous snakes and bites. Some of the snakes I've handled included Diamond Back rattler, Spitting Cobra and several rear fanged snakes. RB 35s5 NY |

Nutsy,
I asked you; when was the last time you seen a poisonous snake on a Sailboat on Long Island Sound? I'll even go so far as to say that you have never seen a poisonous snake,in the wild on Long Island. They don't exist! Now! I won't say you've never seen some one down a jigger of Rum for "Snake Bite". done it myself. But, I don't think there was ever a poisonous snake to witness it. Even from you that would be to much of a Lie! http://community.webtv.net/tassail/ThomPage |

You're telling us that capsize you posted to us WASN"T rough conditions. White caps = great sailing. The women need lots of reassurance. I don't recall a capsize, but one of my students did lose a mast in the central bay. Think you better consider your post agreeing with the Nutsy. Even he doesn't believe ROUGH means no wind. I think the only one he's convunced is YOU! You're right. I shouldn't even do that in jest. -- Capt. JG @@ www.sailnow.com |

Cripes, I'd think some one who claims to be a Writer would be able to find a better word to describe Calm, Still, No Breeze, Quite, Dead Calm, Flat, Slack One who claims to be a writer would certainly have better grammar and spelling skills, too. But take heart in the fact that if and when Bubbles publishes a book, no one will take it seriously after reading his definitions of "rough" weather and/or the important aspects of choosing a particular boat to purchase, such as a big-ass swim platform. What Bubbles calls "rough" we call a drifter. Max |

Now! I won't say you've never seen some one down a jigger of Rum for "Snake Bite". done it myself. Thom, imagine if you will that you are in the field and bitten by a large Eastern Diamond Back rattlesnake. The bite is on the leg. You have no phone or any manner to call from help. You have been hiking and any kind of help is 20 miles away in either direction of difficult terrain. You have food and water. What do you do? RB 35s5 NY |

Thom Stewart wrote: Nutsy, The question asked was the last time you seen a poisonous Snake on a boat on Long Island Sound. A simple "Never" is the right answer. You're trying to change the subject. Snake bite aboard ship is a fun way to have a drink But I'm NOT the one who has a bogus snake bite kit on board, Thom. Look back and see who made that claim. BTW, "sweating it out" is the correct answer. Look it up. It's a valid technique if you can't get help, less so if you're a smaller person vs. the venom dosage. RB 35s5 NY |
