Where is the good Capt anyway?

Still in Kansas. Meet some girl named Dorty.

Does she have ruby red shoes? I saw them at the Smithsonian Institution in
DC! I even have a photo around her somewhere...

Course I'm certain the navy crew was prepared for this... prior
to it's execution.

That's a very excellent picture, Bill. Thanks for sharing...;-)

All your fancy instruments can do is tell when and how the ship turned,
unless you have a wheel sensor or a camera watching the helmsman just
how are they going to prove that he wipped the wheel two turns stbd, 4
Port then centered back up on course?

Wrong.

There would almost certainly be an autologging feature on
the helm servos & the switchgear would log the power
consumption on that circuit.

It means that the exact time & amount of helm angle... down
to the tenth or hundredth of a second if desired... would be
part of a permanent record.

The helmsperson might be sneaky enough to fool a drowsy OOD
but there would be a bright & clear paper trail.

Now when on the helm of the fat sam I had a very hard time inducing a
30 degree roll, lucky to get a 10 degree roll without getting caught,
and we were 11 decks abouve the waterline.

I guess the fat sam was not as top heavy as the carnival ship. I wonder
if the helmsmans was just FN with the passengers, or maybe they engaged
the autopilot on the wrong course.

Critical injuries....oh my. That ship looks extreamly top heavy, wonder
whats going to happen if it gets in a major storm, people are going to
be slapped back and forth between the bulkheads.

Joe

Gentlemen,

If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer. The ship, I can
only describe it this way, knuckled 3 times during the list.

Also think the list may have been more than 15 degrees, passenger
cabins and pubic area windows were in the ocean on the tilted side on
the 5th and 6th decks.

Regards,

Patty

Were you aboard?
Did the ship list to stbd before port, or just one big list one way?

They said the Capt'n sounded terrorfied when he addressed the
passangers, Is that true?

Did they give you your money back?

Latest news: Passengers got a full refund. Captain remains Captain.
Several crew re-assigned. Ship was on Autopilot at the time of the
incident. Human error at fault. No further explanation forthcoming
from the company.

Before you said the Capt sounded terrorized, in this report you say he
is out of breath from running up 3 decks..which is it?

Maybe the Captain is related to Bobsprit..... that would account for the
terror in his voice at being at sea... never mind being out of breath in
only 3 flights of stairs.
