I'd really like to see some pictures of Jim's boat under sail and under
engine.

Hi Jim. You wrote, ''And those of us who can SAIL as well
as motor at 15 knots'' Was that knot you?

Do you have any pics of your boat, sailing?

What are ''GD notes'' ?

Scotty

Hi Scotty. No, I didn't say I can sail at 15 knots. What

I said was
that I can motor out to where I want to sail and motor

back at 15 knots.
In our particular area, in which getting out and back from

the sailing
areas takes a signficant amount of time because or the

traffic, etc.,
that gives me more time for SAILing. Also, this time of

year we
sometimes have some pretty severe squalls that build up

suddently in the
afternoon, and I usually prefer to come back to the marina

rather than
go through them. - The ability to return to the marina at

15 knots in
such circumstances is an obvious safety factor. - Not

saying that the
Mac 26M is the best choice for extended blue water

crossings, but for
me, under these circumstances, its a good choice.

Scotty, as a suggestion, maybe you ought to read the GD

notes before you
start pontificating about them.

Jim

Well said, Thom and I honestly agree with you. Everyone

should enjoy

their SAILboats in the way that suits them.

And those of us who can SAIL as well as motor at 15

knots

to and from a

preferred sailing area, or to get around a squall, can

enjoy our

SAILboats even more.

You can sail at 15 knots? Did buy a 50'er? A cat?

Scotty
