To the whole ASA Group;
Have a great Summer! Those with Boats, any kind; enjoy the hell out of them. They are YOUR"S; Use them any damn well way you want. I know you will. I just want to give you all a vote of confidence. ENJOY!! Maybe think of Ol Thom, once in a while. Maybe when you barbar haul a whisker pole or the sheet on a drifter. I've had my day. I envy each and every one of you, your youth and wish you well And: "I'LL DRINK TO THAT!!" Ol Thom (The Beached Bum) http://community.webtv.net/tassail/ThomPage |

Thanks Thom. I'll remember you the next time I take the 26M out. - I'm
hoping to do some fishing (maybe for tarpons)when it cools down a little. Jim Thom Stewart wrote: To the whole ASA Group; Have a great Summer! Those with Boats, any kind; enjoy the hell out of them. ![]() Well said, Thom and I honestly agree with you. Everyone should enjoy their SAILboats in the way that suits them. I only wish others had your wisdom. Sadly, folks like Doug and Jeff waste tremendous energy fretting over how others enjoy their time on the water. I wish even them well. Take care, Thom. I'm signing off as well for a while. Hi Scotty. No, I didn't say I can sail at 15 knots. What I said was
that I can motor out to where I want to sail and motor back at 15 knots. In our particular area, in which getting out and back from the sailing areas takes a signficant amount of time because or the traffic, etc., that gives me more time for SAILing. Also, this time of year we sometimes have some pretty severe squalls that build up suddently in the afternoon, and I usually prefer to come back to the marina rather than go through them. - The ability to return to the marina at 15 knots in such circumstances is an obvious safety factor. - Not saying that the Mac 26M is the best choice for extended blue water crossings, but for me, under these circumstances, its a good choice. Scotty, as a suggestion, maybe you ought to read the GD notes before you start pontificating about them. Jim Scotty wrote: "JimC" wrote in message . net... Capt. ![]() There's only one "person" here who is trying to tell others what boat they should have and how they should use it. Yup, it's Jeff. I tell people what boat they have but NOT how to use it. Which reminds me, Doug...Jeff's PDQ 36 would have also done nicely for you and even that's better than a trawler. RB 35s5 NY |
