No. He motors. Jim has got a fabulous 26M, which is not only a fantastic

Hi Scotty. No, I didn't say I can sail at 15 knots. What I said was
that I can motor out to where I want to sail and motor back at 15 knots. In our particular area, in which getting out and back from the sailing areas takes a signficant amount of time because or the traffic, etc., that gives me more time for SAILing. Also, this time of year we sometimes have some pretty severe squalls that build up suddently in the afternoon, and I usually prefer to come back to the marina rather than go through them. - The ability to return to the marina at 15 knots in such circumstances is an obvious safety factor. - Not saying that the Mac 26M is the best choice for extended blue water crossings, but for me, under these circumstances, its a good choice. The boat is too fast under power for convenient shots from another sailboat, and I don't have a dingy to sit in while taking pictures of the boat with someone else at the helm. And my wife sure doesn't want to do it. Jim |
