It's a notch below "stupid" to say that a builder "does not charge enough" when they build the best boat possible for the service, and charge accordingly. It's like saying America's Cup racers aren't expensive enough to justify having really good sails. DSK |

![]() It's a notch below "stupid" to say that a builder "does not charge enough" when they build the best boat possible for the service, and charge accordingly. Doug, you really crack me up. Have you ever been aboard a Farr built boat? They are not built with a cost-no-factor mentality. Few boats are. The Whitlock system is naturally more responsive and direct than a cable based system. It's also far more reliable at about 3 times the cost. Plenty of premium builders of performance yachts are using R&P systems, which I already proved. Oh, and a R&P system weighs less too. But the cost (and some wheel placement issues) is not up to the performance/reliability advantages in the minds of some builders. And BTW, are you sure Farr has never used the Whitlock Cobra system??? Catching you assholes is sooo damn easy. I especially like your comment about "one person" telling others how to sail. I usually don't do that. Play with your toys as you please, but get the RIGHT toys! RB 35s5 NY |

![]() LOL.......................... You forgot to mention Hunter in your list. Why do you mention it? Cruising boats can also use the R&P system and Hunter has been using HQ gear for 7 years running now. In fact the new Hunters eclipse both Beneteau and Catalina for quality if you discount Beneteau's high end line. Sloco, you lost. I have the better, more precise, more dependable steering system. It's used on X-Yachts (which you chose to ignore) as well. So enjoy that cable steering slop. It really fits that Dinosaur express 30! RB 35s5 NY |

![]() Hunter has been using HQ gear for 7 years running now. You heard it here first folks. Gee, I hope not. Hunter's vastly improved boats is pretty well known these days. They're also starting to look a lot better than those beasts built in the 90's. Here's the new 33... http://www.rcryachts.com/images/hunter33.jpg It would be a good boat for Scotty. RB 35s5 NY |
