I can honestly say that when we had the 110% out I was a bit unprepared for the Beneteau's surge...it was really fast and a little shocking, It sounds like you are experiencing some difficulties in adapting to a real sailboat. Perhaps you should take a step back to something a little less demanding?? A Pearson, perhaps? Regards Donal -- |

Many look for just the opposite. Joe Regards Donal -- |

![]() Do you consider your boat better because it is more demanding? Many look for just the opposite. Holy crap!!! Does Joe really think a First 35s5 or 33.7 are demanding? Just the opposite, Joe. If I so choose I can sail with just my main in a wide variety of conditions with minimal work. Or pop the genoa and really have some fun. Let's face facts, you own a motorsailor that is not fun to sail ever. That's what you looked for as do many of my older friends who sail Island Packets, Ericson Independence, Cape Dory's, Alberg 35s and the like. I'm 43, Joe. I don't think Donal is old. There's time for boats like yours 20 years from now. Maybe I'll buy a motorsailor too. But now I prefer the fun of a fast ride and the precise feedback. Let me put this way: When Heart of Gold took hold of some good air on Sunday and started to fly on a close reach, Thomas turned to us at the wheel at said, "Wowwwwwwww!" He started to laugh and sat with Suzanne pointing at the rush of water. We laughed so hard....this boat is just delivering the goods plain and simple. RB 35s5 NY |

I wouldn't say that my boat was the perfect choice for a TransAt. I had a chance to buy a much more demanding boat than Setanta, and I turned it down because I couldn't have sailed it with a young family. Many look for just the opposite. You really like your powerboat, don't you? Regards Donal -- |
