http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/sharks...elariskdog.htm Relatively there are less attacks by dog on man than shark on man becasue of the exposure level...how many sharks do you encounter on a day to day basis vs dogs? Work out percentages.... |

"Swab Rob" wrote But to me the shark is a real "monster." It's just as frightening as any movie monster, perhaps worse in that it inhabits our dreams as well as nightmares. Hoo boy! this is priceless . frightened by movie monsters? Shark nightmares? This could help explain some of dip****s' behavioral problems. SV |

Don't forget that sharks probably look far scarier on a 13" B&W than on a big screen in color. Max |

(except for polar bears..they're a different story...) You know what I see as the difference? A shark that will attack and kill you is usually fairly big. They chomp you in half, or take a limb and swim off. You die quite quickly and with little or no pain as shock takes care of that pretty fast. A bear, will devour you piece by little piece as you squirm under him, held solidly by those claws. Me, I'll take the quick way. Knock yourself out. I'll opt for neither. Max |

"katy" wrote in message ... I've had lots of experiences of the close up and personal with bears, also. Was trapped in a UP outhouse for several hours while one traipsed around outside...was one of the high points of my life (NOT...even 3 minutes in a primitive outhouse is 3 too many...).... That wasn't a bear--that was just Marv. Max |

Scotty I guess in the long run, I'd rather just have a heart attack in my bed one night or drop dead in the street.... I'm more likely to die on A-dock from an overdose of rum. Max |
