I don't know. I'm sure glad we didn't. In fact we paid almost 2.5K less
than average according to Edmunds and got free alarm, remote starter
and oil changes.

You had to buy the car to get the freebies. They aren't free.

There free if the dealer gave them to us and no one else we spoke to.

There are no used Sedonas. The new model is only out a few months.

They will start filling used car lots soon.

And so it goes for every car, but for now you were utterly wrong.

The power difference only begins in the top ten percent of the rpm range.
Are you going to redline a minivan?

Wrong. It's noticeable at the low end, off the line, merging and so on
and noted in EVERY rewiew that the HP and Torque are excellent, beating
all others. I drove them all and the Kia is clearly the fastest and has
the most grunt. Frankly 0-60 in 7.3 seconds is faster than
required...but I'll take it!

The Toyota is lighter and has a far superior transmission. Not to mention
exceptional gas mileage.

The Toyota has the same MPG. We know this 1st hand. The AWD version is
far worse on gas of course.

Toyota can point to a consistent track record of quality and exceptional
value.

Too bad they won't back the car with a good warranty. Dealer warranties
are a must with every Toyota and don't cover everything.

The best KIA can do is hope that this car is their exception and meets the
norm for Toyota.

And that is Kia's goal, with 3 more upscale cars in the works and
financial muscle to challenge Mercedes and BMW in 3 more years. The
Korean car builders are chasing after the Japanese just as the Japanese
chased after the big 3. The scary part is the Kia and Hyundai are
merged and have shown that they can do what the Japanese did in half
the time. The big three are doomed when fit and finish of a 10K Kia
beats a Caddy.

asian cars are nothing like the european product...
asia can copy...that's it...american cars took a
good lesson from europe, the are playing the "catch
up game" us cars will be there in 5 years or so, they
have come a long way...try getting hit broad side by
a car going 60 in asian cheap, lightweight metal...see
how that feels...as compaired to volvo, m benz, or bmw...

I'm a Korean War Veteran and there's no way I would support that Korean
crap. I bet that thing is colder than the Chosin Reservoir in winter and
rattles like a Russian T-54 tank. The thing probably smells like kimchee and
smokes like a Korean wantiki torch burning bunker oil. If only McArthur had
pushed into Manchuria we would all be driving Chryslers today. Don't get me
going on that Jap stuff either! Sure, they are built in America but in
Japanese controlled labor camps. Miss your quota once it is off to the
hotbox for you. Screw up again and it is off with your head. No, I would
rather drive a car built by big, fat, lazy, overpaid union workers. They are
fat because they eat steak, not riceballs and fish heads. That foreign stuff
is junk.

Yes we got the standard alarm...but we also got a Cobra passive system
with better features combined with remote start. One button starts the
car. A second button starts the car AND opens Thomas' door. That's not
standard, sir.

Yup and the weakest engine around. Also: You might want to try actually
sitting in the Sienna...worst seats of all the minivans. Only 3 year
warranty.

or as you Autobytel says....

http://www.autobytel.com/content/sha...le_id_int/1078

And if that's too many pages to read, here are some highlights...

"Making a minivan stylish is a difficult task accomplished by few, but
with the 2006 Sedona, Kia gets it exactly right."

"Most impressive, however, is the leather that's optional in the EX.
It feels really good - soft, smooth, almost plush, yet the seat is
perfectly supportive."

"In terms of control layout, the 2006 Kia Sedona's buttons, knobs,
and displays are all clearly marked, large, and operate with the
dampened heft and refinement of a luxury car. The end result is the
impression of quality, and of designers who bothered to take the time
to consider how a minivan is really used."

"Coil springs manage body motion, and stabilizer bars help limit body
roll. Kia's suspension tuner, Gordon Dickie, aimed for a blend of the
Honda Odyssey's taut responsiveness and the Toyota Sienna's soft
cushiness, and we'd say he succeeded. "

"Sedona offers the most powerful engine in the class, a new aluminum
3.8-liter V6 equipped with 24 valves and dual continuously variable
valve timing (CVVT). This new V6 makes 244 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and
253 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,500 rpm when running on premium unleaded.
That's more horsepower and torque than Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GM,
Honda, Mazda, Nissan and Toyota offer in a minivan."

"Even when cruising at 80 mph on grooved pavement, road and engine
noise were virtually absent. In our experience, only the Toyota Sienna
comes close to delivering this kind of cabin isolation, and at
comparatively higher prices."

"As a result, the 2006 Sedona brings to market the best and brightest
ideas from other manufacturers in a handsomely designed package. All
that's left to ensure market success, at this writing, is top-notch
crash-test scores."

2006 Sedona leads EVERY minivan in crash tests and rollover. Expect
Toyota and Honda to respond quickly to this challenge. For the first
time the Koreans realyy have everyone on the run to design a market
segment.
