Default Among the first signs of insanity is...

Among the first signs of insanity is when people cease believing in reality and commence
believing in conspiracies.

In the past it was the Art Bell/Coast to Coast crowd who could not face reality so they
escaped into doom prophecy such as comet strikes, earthquakes, tsunamis, plagues,
pestilences, etc. etc. Never mind there's no basis for any of it; it's easier to believe
rumor and innuendo than to accept facts mostly because a grasp of facts involves
a grasp of reality along with an ability to engage in critical thinking.

When some subscribers here start talking about end-times it is very clear they have
not read their Bible prophecy nor read their scientific literature (if they have no
grounding in spiritual matters). Either way, whether from a biblical standpoint or
a scientific standpoint, there exists no basis for a belief that the world is coming to
an end any time soon.

You people need to stop trying to escape reality and embrace the wonderful world
in which we live. Never in the history of mankind has mankind had it so good. This
is mostly evidenced by the fact that so many have so much free time to speculate
on such tripe as end times. If times were really as bad as they claim they would
be spending every last minute just staying fed.
