Is Zinfandel (shudder) still the biggest seller ? I don't track such numbers, but I'm guessing that cabernet and chardonnay are still the top sellers. Personally I prefer drier wines, such as sauvignon blancs and pinot grigio. As for being average, I doubt if California cabs are any more "average" than the same wines from Oz. I've had superb cabs from both Oz and CA, and I've had some real **** from both as well. That's hardly a scientific study, but your hyperbole is probably quite inaccurate as well. Max |
