Mostly in the 70s (but a coupla times more recently)
and mostly, I suspect, 'cause I had long hair.

Of course you would. You'd recommend unquestioning conformity.

It is amazing how fast the man will judge you by looks.

Once a long time ago to fix a bad hair cut I had my hair real short,
like 1/4 " short.

A cop directing traffic called me a skinhead MF got in my face and
wanted a fight big time. He was the kind of cop I knew I could take his
gun away and beat him senceless with it. But it was the 4th of July and
I did not need a hassle, so I just ignored him. It was amazing how he
judged me just by a bad haircut.

I've read in Lat 38, that they leave fat middle aged
naked people alone. The opposite of Doug's case
with the cute young girls in bikini's.

I got searched once. I had longish hair, a beard, barefoot and ratty
clothes.. Then they found a US Naval Officer uniform on board. That had them
jumping, then I showed them my ID card and explained I had a few months
"off".
They then left and took their stinking dog with them.

Amen!

No running lights that we could see. And when they were running next
to us they had soft, red tone, low intensity instrument lighting. It
was obvious to us that they did not want to be seen. The crew (two
that we could see) were also blacked out completely.

They were on us before we knew it. All six of us were looking west to
the lights of South Beach (beautiful from the water at night) and they
came up on our port side. It was a strange experience. This happened
about ten years ago.

Now that's funny... I was sailing toward Red Rock and saw a guy and gal
sailing naked.

Thats nothing, I snuck (sailed)up on a powerboat drifting across the
lake.
Low and behold she was going down on him like Pamela Anderson on Tommy
Lee, I think she saw me but just kept on going.
Of course I had to make a loud tack to stir thing up :0)

You mean to *startle* the young lady. The poor schmuck's lucky he didn't
get something bitten off by your callous action. g

Well, sure. How you look is the most obvious thing about
you... what's really amazing is how people will make serious
judgements... and seriously wrong judgements... about you
based on trivial things about your appearance.

And Dave thinks you were "making a statement" with the
length of your hair, although a statement that he thinks the
cop should agree strongly with.

Is driving with long hair... or a bad haircut... as serious
a crime as driving while black?
