Poor Mr. Crantz got thrown off of his ISP...

Lloyd I'm sorry to hear that. Excuse my computer ignorance
but how does one get thrown off their internet service prov-
der.

Whatever his violation(s) may have been... I can't imagine
them having to do with his participation in this newsgroup
or for that matter that one of our participants was respons-
ible.

Wondering what's up????

Bill

Don't worry, Bob Crantz assures me he will return. He asked if I would step
in for him until he can return. He is very kind, especially to Korean War
Veterans. I'd fight my way off hold anytime for Bob Crantz!

Right you are Lloyd.

I shall return!

Amen!

Bill, your ISP would determine that you've done something that violates
their acceptable use policy (AUP) or terms of service (TOS), then they
remove priviledges from your account, e.g., not allow you to post to
newsgroups through their service, refuse to allow you to use email, remove
your website from their servers, or any and all of these things, including
not allowing you to be their customer. Of course, there are lots of ISPs, so
one can usually go to another.

I suspect that Lloyd doesn't know what he's talking about, because Crantz is
occasionally on topic, almost always interesting, and I can't remember
anything he's done that has come close to violating his AUP or TOS with
respect to this newsgroup.

You have to keep in mind that no one on this (or almost any) newsgroup can
be "responsible" for someone being booted. The person in question must do
something that their ISP finds objectionable and must be convinced that it
wasn't a one-time thing (usually, but not always.. depends on the ISP).

Never had to worry about tipping over at low tide either did ya?

You are right. It is a bilge keel ketch. It was called 'Quill'.

You're not still in the Royal Navy eh?

No, I retired from the Andrew in 1960. I am off to Melbourne next week to
stay with an old mate from 50 years ago. Went into teaching, calligraphy and
civilian sailing after that.

I "recommend" you keep a low profile if you're still in the Oyalr Avyn.

I am well retired, so will keep as low a profile as I can, consistent with
advertising!

I have it on good word that Karl Rove got a hold of Bob Crantz's ISP
account. They tried to ship him off to Guantanamo be he used Ju Jitsu on
them. I'll report when I find out more.

not only are you spam, you are making readers to go to your crappy site
without even telling anyone what books your talking about. Pretty
****ty of you Quill jar.

I might have been interested in your books but your marketing efforts
are so poor as to cast doubt on the quaility of your writing.

If you had any imagination you would have found a way to make your
spam a converstaion many would be interested in.

When I saw your book Boom Crack I thought it was about Capt Neal. But
noooooooooooooo... it's a boom full of crack cocaine. (how original)

Plus this is not the first time you have spammed the books here.

His books are Three recent novels by Christopher Jarman Click on
the covers to find out more, or to buy Flotilla is the sequel to
Boomcrack. On a sailing holiday to Greece, our hero the resourceful
retired admiral links up with an attractive teacher for romance and
dashing hijinks around the Ionian Islands. While bumbling Greek
pensioners attempt a comical kidnap on Ithaca, the chase ensues for a
murderous gang of ruthless Albanians who threaten their holiday idyll.
From his retirement home in the future, an ex RAF pilot turned village

headmaster, reviews his love life and midlife crisis. A wife plus
several gorgeous women of various ethnicities, and wistful insight,
cram this amusing tale of romance finally found at ninety. Three ex
navy mates and their girl friends are dragged into adventures from the
English Channel to Bogota and Majorca when they accidentally stumble on
a drug smuggling ring operating within the yachting fraternity. Piracy
and cunning fill this exciting, funny thriller. A great holiday read.

It is. They didn't!
But the action moves to Bogata at one point. You really should read it :-)
