Snowboarding is a Michigan sport. Boarding in half-pipes is dangerous.
We taught out kids to ski, but refrained from the whole board business,
not wanting to deal with the broken bones issues in the learning process.

Oh, thanks, Katy. I just took it up last year.

Just don't clip anyone in the head coming off the half pipe...

You're hardly likely to see me anywhere near a half pipe. I'm doing okay on
sweeping, carving turns and I can usually stay up in bumps, but that aerial
stuff is not for someone my age, thenn kyew.

Ever consider that aerial stuff is really not for someone of any age. It all
just shows up later in life.

Look at all the young age mogul fiends getting new hips later in life.

Amen!

My knees began to give me problems in college after the better part of 10
years as a catcher. I still suffer some issues with them. Your point is
well taken.

When I coached youth baseball, which I did for about 10 years the
hardest position to fill was catcher. Seems like those that could
didn't want to and those that wanted to suffered from bat swing blink.
One of my sons caught for a number of those seasons, however
reluctantly. He was always beat up.

That had nothing to do with baseball. Mooring cleats--yes, but not
baseball.

Nothing quite like taking a 200lb., 20mph baserunner in the chest while
attempting to catch a long throw from center field.
