Just found out I'm getting $6200 back in overpaid

taxes!! Man life ie
rough!

You fool. You let your gummint walk all over you, taking

*your* money
needlessly, drawing interest on it while you struggle to

make ends meet.

You'd make a great citizen of the US of A.

Just last week I got a check for $16.42 from the IRS, from
my 2002 tax return. Whoooo Hooo!

I'm always amazed at the # of people who brag about getting
a big tax 'refund' after April 15th.

It's nice that you're getting your money back, less

interest of
course, but you probably shouldn't be bragging about it.

Basically,
you didn't do the math right to begin with, thus giving

your gov't a
free ride on your money... not exactly good accounting or

particulary
smart unless that's what you intended. Since you said that

you "just
found out," well, I guess that says it all.

I say make drugs of the highest purity available. No

weaning necessary.

Say, did you ever see "Pulp Fiction?" That stuff John

Revolta had might do
the trick.

Haven't seen it. is it a good movie? I got Netflix so I
need to choose some movies.

I'm always amazed at the number of people who use the national
Treasury as a savings bank without interest...so nice of them to
allow the government to use their money interest-free...

I transferred my savings account money into an 'ING'
account. they're offering 4.75%. That's better than the CDs
I had.

Perhaps he estimates his tax payments. According to law payments this
year are based on how you did last year. Perhaps he did not do as well
this year, and yet still had to pay taxes as if he did. Thus, he gets a
refund.

They are also based upon how you are doing in the current year. If you make
an estimated payment and it comes up short, you owe interest.

If you are making less in the current year, you can pay estimated based on
your current income.

Amen!

Careful there, Mooron--the conservative PM might just take away that ripe
government tit you've been sucking upon.

Ah yes.... you folks in the USA don't understand the benefits of a "Minority
Government" ... do you? Did you know that there is actually way too much
money in the EI coffers.... has been for the last 6 years.... that's
right.... the coffers are bloated to the tune of billions of dollars.... not
millions.... the government has been using funds from it to supplement other
departments. They're giving it away and removed the stipulation that you
have to check in to pretend to look for work every week.

So I've been paying into the system for 30 years.... collected maybe a
year's worth in that time.... now I'm collecting more. There will be times I
collect less. It's called insurance... we have to pay it.... they have to
pay-out when appropriate. It's great... I work construction and there is no
work in that field during the "off-season".... EI comes in handy... buys my
beer and smokes!

I have no power to effect what tax rate the government utilizes on me
Max.... it is based on your pay cheque. Now if I work 150hrs in 2 weeks....
here in Nova Scotia overtime is only payable after 55 hrs/wk for
construction related work. That means that I still have 40 hrs of OT at
T&1/2.... for that period. The tax is taken off as if I make that kind of
cash every payday all year. I only work 6 to 8 months. So they have
overtaxed me and I am now due a return.

You'd make a great citizen of the US of A.

Heh... you won't miss one less Cannuck! Your country Sucks! I'd never again
set foot there.
