Has anyone heard of a "Sportboat 29".
Deep fin with bulb, spade rudder, carbon bowsprit. It looks like a Cheetah 30, but the rudder is not transom hung, and the fin is broader then tapered to the bulb. It's light enough to be carried on a double axle trailer. |

Thanks for the information. That is it.
http://www.bravurayachts.com/bravura_sportster_29.htm A cool boat, but a little heavy. Too bad they didn't give it a carbon mast and boom. "rgnmstr" wrote Do you mean the Bravura Sportster 29? |

COOL. Well worth it. How much weight does that save?

This would be an awesome boat to have in NC *if* you could lift the keel while underway, but apparently it's not designed for that. Very Cool even so... it appears to be roomier and more comfortable than some of the other sports boats, easier to sail, and not much slower... faster than some Fresh Breezes- Doug King |

I checked out the Bravura Sportster 29 at the Annapolis Show a couple
of years ago and thought it was a really well finished boat with a high build quality. Since it's introduction however Bravura has had some problems with other boats in their lineup and I wonder if those problems have effected the sales of the 29. I know the local dealer was advertising the show demo for months at what they were claiming was a hot price which I thought was funny since the rep at the show told me the demo was sold. He even pointed out a way cool custom teak rack built onto the back of a cabinet door that held wiskey minatures that he said the owner wanted. |

Doug,
This is the boat for you. You can cut off that keel and put on an adjustable daggerboard, and have the coolest boat on the East Coast. It's a great boat, all right... at the moment I don't have time to undertake a project like that. But there is a Santa Cruz 33 in our neighborhood that has had a lifting keel put in. Good idea IMHO. Douglas, I've tried replying to your e-mail twice today and both times
I get a Mailer Demon that states it was or cannot be delivered after 3 hours. |
