It's being rewound at the moment. Because it's cheaper that way? Because it was also used as a PTO by belt or friction wheel at some point? Because it used to be painted but wore off? No belts or anything touches the outside of the flywheel. The exciter motor belts run off the shaft. I don't know why it isn't painted. .. Looking at the pictures again, the big thing to the right of the armature is the stator. The armature has slid out of the stator. No. That truck costs more than RB's boat! Lot's more!
