Default C&C 99 vs 35s5

The 99 is vacuum bagged and aligned for strength. The 35s5 does not
come
close.

The 99 is very strong, yes. So is the 35s5. So is Scotty's Sieldlemann.
Most hulls are more than strong enough, even a thin glassed Mac26m. The
99's benefits are that it's new, it's fast and state of the art.
Crantz, you're preaching to the choir on this one. Bad troll. I love
the 99. We just didn't think it made sense when a liveaboard is planned
in 5 years.

The 99 has 65% cloth vs 25% in the 35s5!

Superior resin and construction methods!

What a boat!

It's no wonder you like it too!

I liked it way back when I saw hull #1 at the AC boat show, which led
me to designs like the 34xl and 35s5...two boats that offer many of the
same qualities and a few the 99 misses out on. I prefer the C&C 34XL to
the 99 and the XL is faster. I prefer the 35s5 to the 99.
If you want to troll, use the 34XL....far nicer than the 99 and at
least as nice as the 35s5. We walked away from the XL for one
reason...7' draft.

Does the 34XL have the same superior vacuum bag construction of the 99?

Amen!

Epoxy hull as I recall...I don't remember the details. But as a coastal
cruiser it's even faster than the 99, has more room below, more
stowage, and even better cockpit and running backstays to drive you
nuts.
Doug listed the 34XL and + versions with centerboards as a viable
alternative to the 35s5 (one of the few), but they cost close to 100K,
driven up in price by the 99. Check it out...the 34XL is fantastic.
Very tough to get the C&C group says only a few CB versions were built.

Do you even understand the significance of vacuum bagging?

We're talking aircraft grade fiberglass construction!

Not in your 35s5!

Amen!
