![]() Appearance: The 35s5 looks lean and mean. Her odd ports add sizzle and the swim platform/scoop transom mean speed to a sailor's eye. The Express has no platform, is quite boxy. In photo's the Express almost looks like the aspect ratio is squeezed. Most of the fault is in the cabin trunk, which kills the few lines the boat does have. Performance: The 35s5 is faster. Period. She's just a whole generation ahead of the Express 30. Interior: Forget about it! The 35s5 blows the Express 30 away below. I have yet to see EVER one single pic of a Express 30 interior that looked good and probably won't ever. Build quality/Fit and finish: I can't fairly judge this without close inspection, but based on the pics of the Express I've seen, the 35s5 probably blows it away. Features: The 35s5 has no many more features and little nuances that it's easy to see why the Express 30 is a sailing boat fading footnote. Most people never heard of it and the company died on the vine. The 35s5 was well up-market from the Express 30. RB 35s5 NY |
