The motion of the waves is much more gentle in the ocean, than in a sea.


That's correct. A sea, like Lake Michigan, can have closely-spaced waves,
making the motion aboard a boat less than gentle. Of course some of those
seas in Europe may even have such waves as well, but who knows for sure. No
one in Europe ever goes sailing outside the rivers and Lake Geneva.
