Hello to all

How Ironic...A irishman in a British town that sounded French before
being named after an American town named after a Britian Queen.

This will cause the universe to impode at any second.

Like Ypsilanti, Onancock, Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Seminole?

or were you

referring to Susquehanna, Gogebic, or Huron?

Or Indianapolis, Denver, Albuquerque, Poukeepsie, Bean Blossom,

Fort Wayne,

or Seattle?

Blue Ball, Intercourse, Virginville, Bird in Hand, Paradise,
Wagontown, Sinking Spring, Stony Creek ,all in my area of PA.

You are all too stupid to realise that the Virginia in Ireland was named
*AFTER* the Virginia in the USA.

I was confident that none of you knew anything at all about history, ...

and

I was absolutely correct!

Don't be so obtuse and sanctimonious, Donal.

Really!!!!

Can't you see that my post about Virginia *proved* that Americans are the
most sanctimonious race on Earth?

Wjhy should we
reiyterate the obvious? I've been to Manteo and the Roanoke
colony's landing place and live in the state of VA. Virginia Dare
was the child of British parents so therfore was named after
something British, not American.

Virginia was named by Sir Walter Raleigh in honour of Queen Elizabeth the
First.

On his way back from America, he passed through Ireland ... and the village
of Baile Atha Lir. He renamed Baile Atha Lir "Virginia".

I come from the only town in Europe that is named after a place in America.

Irony is a foreign word in America .....

And if the Irish had been smarter, they would have renamed it as
soon as they got rid of British rule.
Do you think the average Canadian would have known that? Or
Australian? It is an obscure factoid...and means nothing in the
scheme of things except to show that your obsessive compulsion to
denigrate Americans is running away with you.
For some reason, you feel that British history is the end all and be
all of the world. Well, maybe it used to be, but it isn't anymore.
Get over it.

Keeping up the image of the uneducated and inbred American by insisting you
don't have a clue about the difference between Celtic and Gaul..... ???

Oh wait... you're serious... you really don't know the difference do you?

Wrong Donut! You are too pompous to realize that we all don't
give a rat's ass about Ireland.

Speak for yourself, Scoot. I love Ireland. I just don't care about
Irishmen like Donal, who are so sanctimonious as to be a blight on his
country. Of course you find such people everywhere, not just Ireland. New
York, for example . . . :-)

. . . or bind all of us together in mutual respect, as it should. Of
course don't expect anything resembling respect from Donal.
