Yeah, but you don't need that big a boat to do some extended offshore
sailing. Been told that the average "cruiser" is sailing something around
45', and these are generally sailboats as opposed to motorsailers. If I had
the kind of money it would atke to purchase this thing I would buy something
about 900,000 less, and live the good life everytime I made a landfall.
Besides, the thing does not have a skeg-hung rudder, which I think is a very
good thing to have going offshore, don't you?

Not only is it not skeg hung but there are two and they are not behind
the keel. Very exposed. Not a PNW boat.

Well if one gets knocked off, you do have another!

Whats the problem in the PNW?

Rocky bottoms and floating lumber?

I like the clean decks.

Nothing worse than having a hard time seeing while your on the
wheel..that and cluttered tight decks.

I love the style. Pilothouses rock (I own one) but the hull still has
to be well thought out and sail properly. Cruisers up here hit logs
daily. It rains all the time (keeps the riff raff away). Sailing from
inside the pilothouse on a ****ty day listening to a little Buffet on
the stereo is pretty close to heaven. No crowded anchorages in Dec.

Although great sailing boats and superbly built, I find the pilothouses
on Pacific Seacraft a little ungainly looking. I would have one though.
