Afraid to sail at night as well, aye? Boo!

Let's see how many night sails you do with Thomas on board. I've done
a dozen or so night passages of over 100 miles (not counting OPB's),
most of them before GPS and Radar. We don't do them much with a child
on board.

And actually, the issue is often arriving in time to get a mooring
inside the harbor.

And since you've been more than a few miles from shore, you have no
right to comment on any aspect of cruising.

Or making through a canal or
hole before the tide turns? Since you've never actually done these
things, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Gee, I think my many dealings with the east river and hells gate says
otherwise. Boo!

Your "many dealings"? BWAHAHAHAHA! Maybe, just maybe, you can get
someone to believe you took your own boat through Hell Gate once. If
you had, you might know the correct spelling.

And besides, Hell Gate is not particularly challenging compared to
Wood's Hole. And you would wet your pants if you saw what happens at
the ends of the CC Canal if there's an opposing wind.

Is there something about the East River? I never found that any
problem at all, other than dodging the swimmers.

And what does it mean that I fire up an engine if we're doing under 5

knots? That says nothing about my light air performance.

You said that you GENERALLY start the engines when doing less than 5
knots. I know EXACTLY what kind of sailor your are, Jeff.

And we all know what kind you are.

I could care
less

And I could care less what you care.

how far you sail. Just takes time.

BWAHAHAHAHA!

Sure thing, booby. Going out for a month or two away from home,
cruising Down East where there aren't too many marinas, navigating in
thick fog, being prepared to anchor out in any weather, handle any
repairs ... why should I bother? You claimed that "sailing without
A/C would be horrific" and you don't even have a genset!

You're a notch above a
powerboater and sail that way.

And you're about ten notches below. In 10 years of sailing you're
still talking about maybe doing a few overnights. Why do you even
bother owning a boat?

And remember, your boat was singled out for having an extra 24 point

handicap in light air. So while you might think its a great light air
boat, the computer doesn't.

Does the computer like my big wheel???

And for the record, if I were given your boat, the first thing I
would
do is put it on the market.

That's because you're not a sailor. If I was given ANY boat the first
thing I'd do is sail it.
But you know best!

I gave that some thought, but in this case I'd be afraid it would
depreciate too much. Aren't you the one who said: "Beneteau: Crap
floats, but you can't sleep on it." and "Beneteau is well packaged
junk."?

Good gawd! Crantz...stay on Jeff's side. He needs help But are you
helping?

I don't really need anyone's help. But haven't you noticed, they all
agree with me!

Why, will he be afraid of the dark like you???

I've done
a dozen or so night passages of over 100 miles

I'm sure Capt. Neal will send you the Joshua Slocum award!

And since you've been more than a few miles from shore, you have no
right to comment on any aspect of cruising.

Oh. So if I cruise 100 miles within a few miles of shore...uh....it's
not cruising? Ok!

Maybe, just maybe, you can get
someone to believe you took your own boat through Hell Gate once.

Yup, with all of my boats and even the "wrong way" a few years ago to
return from the worst fireworks ever.

And I could care less what you care.

Then why answer EVERY post? You seem very wound up about what I think
of your PDQ. I guess if you had some self confidence you could move on.

You claimed that "sailing without
A/C would be horrific" and you don't even have a genset!

Never said that. Prove it with a link. Like you I refered to a specific
time period (it's August here) where it been so hot and still, that
most folks don't even both with their boats. You used the word
"oppressive." With A/C at the slip at least I can spend some time
aboard. And of course we're getting a genset, Jeff...so take it easy,
bub!

In 10 years of sailing you're
still talking about maybe doing a few overnights. Why do you even
bother owning a boat?

Funny. My friend owns a J30 and he rarely cruises anywhere. He just
sails and sails locally because he loves it. I guess he's a bad sailor
too! Good call, Jeff. Sorry everyone isn't playing with their toys to
suit you. Then again our toys are actually entertaining to use!

But haven't you noticed, they all
agree with me!

Jeff, snap out of it. I you said the earth was flat and I said it was
round, they'd still side with you. Or haven't you noticed? The fact
that I can take ALL of you on and still beat you with your own oars is
why this is so much fun. And you STILL manage to be wrong 90% of the
time!

Not so. I can deliver to you a severe beating at will. I've done it many
times. You can't even attack my boat! You have no edge on me.

There are lots of ways to go cruising. You haven't done any yet.

dream on. But even so, Hell Gate is only about 8 miles from your
slip. And are you seriously claiming that you wouldn't turn on the
engine to make a favorable tide?

And I could care less what you care.

Then why answer EVERY post? You seem very wound up about what I think

You're the one who has been begging for approval Bob. With every
post, you've groveled before us. Rather pathetic for an allegedly
grown man.

You claimed that "sailing without
A/C would be horrific" and you don't even have a genset!

Never said that. Prove it with a link.

I wouldn't think you'd be so stupid as to want to relive that blunder.
On Nov. 7 you said: "It even has AC and heat. A boat without AC is
horrific in August."

Like you I refered to a specific
time period (it's August here) where it been so hot and still, that
most folks don't even both with their boats.

Well, we didn't think you meant it would be horrific in winter. But
you still don't get it. How do you actually plan to use the A/C?
You're bragging that for the month of August the only use you'll have
of your boat is sitting down below in your slip. So that puts you
where on your rating system? About 10 levels below a powerboater?

You used the word
"oppressive." With A/C at the slip at least I can spend some time
aboard. And of course we're getting a genset, Jeff...so take it easy,
bub!

Now you're bragging that you'll be the asshole everyone hates, not
just here but out on the water. You're already well on your way.

In 10 years of sailing you're
still talking about maybe doing a few overnights. Why do you even
bother owning a boat?

Funny. My friend owns a J30 and he rarely cruises anywhere. He just
sails and sails locally because he loves it.

Good for him. Does he spend all his time making up reasons why his
boat is superior to all others?

I guess he's a bad sailor too!

He may well be a great sailor. One the best sailors I've had out on
my boat (an Olympic alternate in the Star class) almost ran my boat
aground just a mile from his normal race course. He thought my "old
man's boat" was lots of fun to sail.

Good call, Jeff. Sorry everyone isn't playing with their toys to
suit you. Then again our toys are actually entertaining to use!

No Bob, its the other way around. YOU haven't earned to right to
complain about how I, or anyone else uses their boat. Have you ever
seen me comment adversely on anyone's boat (not counting Irwins and a
certain Coronado)? I have no problem with how people use their boats,
I like most of the boats here, and respect the experience of most of
the skippers. Most of them have earned the right to comment,
occasionally harshly, on others and their boats. You have not.

You started this with your pathetic insistence that everyone approve
of you new boat. It wasn't enough that people think its a good choice
for your use, you need to keep making idiotic lists of reasons why
your boat vastly superior to all others, and that you got it for half
price.

Sorry Bob, you may own a sailboat, and you may (someday) actually
leave the slip, but you're not a sailor in my book.

But haven't you noticed, they all
agree with me!

Jeff, snap out of it. I you said the earth was flat and I said it was
round, they'd still side with you.

I wonder why that is?

Or haven't you noticed? The fact
that I can take ALL of you on and still beat you with your own oars is
why this is so much fun.

And the best part is that when Thomas asks "what was daddy like?"
there will be a record that he can read.

There are lots of ways to go cruising. You haven't done any yet.

Our 3 and 4 days trips were cruises, Jeff. Sorry. Short cruises, yes,
but cruises all the same.

And are you seriously claiming that you wouldn't turn on the
engine to make a favorable tide?

Lord, you're dumb. It's a few miles away. If there's that little wind,
I'd rather wait for some. I like to sail, not motor. One of the few
times we ever ran our diesel for an extended period was coming back
from Port Jeff in 95 degree weather and one of the girls was sick from
the heat.

Does he spend all his time making up reasons why his

boat is superior to all others?

He owns a J30. That boat is a blast to sail and about 500 times more
fun than your boat.

You started this with your pathetic insistence that everyone approve

of you new boat.

To "approve" of my boat means admitting that you made a dopey choice
when you bought yours. Not many people will admit to that. If you
didn't feel so badly about your boat you would never have responded to
any of this. With each response I can see how deeply this has hurt you.
Sorry!

Well, we didn't think you meant it would be horrific in winter. But

you still don't get it. How do you actually plan to use the A/C?

If only you asked that to begin with you wouldn't look like such a punk
right now.

YOU haven't earned to right to
complain about how I, or anyone else uses their boat.

Eh, wake up, Jeff. I rarely, if ever question how people use their
boats. This has been about the boat choices themselves. You and many of
the others are the ones crying over all the miles you've sailed, as if
that means ANYTHING! It's so funny...I know people who sail on lakes.
They don't sail far, but they sail GREAT. That's sailing, Jeff. You
wanna cruise...great! Buy a Trawler and best of luck...or a Multi.

Sorry Bob, you may own a sailboat, and you may (someday) actually
leave the slip, but you're not a sailor in my book.

That would be: "How to Buy a Dull Boat" from Avon Books right?

And the best part is that when Thomas asks "what was daddy like?"
there will be a record that he can read.

Another lame duck attack using my kid. Amazing and dirt low. I can see
what sort of person your are. I wonder if anyone else can?
Jeff, you may be worse than humorless. You may in fact be scum. No way
will I retaliate using your children. Just like my boat is better than
yours, I'm also better than you.

What an asshat. Your not better than anybody. You sir made derogatory
comments about my mother when she passed away. In my book that makes
you the lowest of the low. At least your ****ing inbread kid born by
your 42nd street skank wife is alive.
