![]() "Capt. Rob" wrote in message oups.com... Oh no, Steve--Bubbles has shown us all just how his Beneteau is considerably superior to Nautor Swan and other like products. Just ask him. Given our planned usage, please tell everyone what the Swan would do for us that the 35s5 won't. Nothing, Bubbles. You should *never* own a Swan under any circumstances. Max |

![]() "Capt. Rob" wrote in message ups.com... Real Teak!!! We have real teak veneer. OOoooo, real teak veneer! My, but we have hit the big time, Bubbles. If you have more solid teak (which I doubt) it only makes overproof that much slower than the 35s5. Continuing with that argument, Bubbles, your Bendy should be trimmed with balsa or styrofoam. Max |

![]() "Capt. Rob" wrote in message oups.com... We'll have to test that theory someday Bob..... :-) PHRF below 130 aint no theory. Mooron. Chill, baby. OOooo, 130. Impressive. When you've sailed a boat or two with negative PHRF numbers, call me back. Max |

Mooron. Chill, baby. Yeah... numbers on paper.... I'll show you the actual factual !! 20kts. and steep seas should do it. (Of course Bubbles' boat won't leave the dock under such conditions.) Max |

![]() "Capt. Rob" wrote in message ups.com... Big deal. My boat has real solid teak. It's a pain to keep oiling it. I think that plastic coated veneer fake teak is better. Of course some folks "like" oiling thier teak. If it's below decks, you might try varnishing it. Max |

![]() "Capt. Rob" wrote in message oups.com... Give you more bragging rights on ASA. If I bought a Swan I assure you Crantz would find races it lost, Max would find deck problems Doubtful. The way they construct their teak decks now is virtually leak proof and permanent. Max |

![]() "Scotty" wrote in message ... "Capt. Rob" wrote in message oups.com... If you are going to dream of owing a superior production boat, you should take a look at what Swan builds. A Swan for local daysailing and weekend cruises on the Sound? Yeah, sure. That makes sense. About as much sense as Jeff's PDQ. Translation; I can't afford one. RB 35s5 it's all I could afford, but still better than a Yugo NY |

I think that plastic coated veneer fake teak is better. Of course some folks "like" oiling thier teak. If it's below decks, you might try varnishing it. Depends on what you like. I have teak plugs over the s/s screws in the teak. I like to be able to access anypart of the boat. If that entails removal of some teak... it's far simpler and less damaging to remove the plug on oiled teak than on teak with 10 layers of varnish. Oiling teak is a simple effective method to maintain wood with a nice effect. Varnished glossy interiors belong on vessels where the work is done primarily by the yard or hired out. CM |

Ozone has us all beat for bullet proof interiors. Yeah, he can go inside with a power washer and simply hose er down. MacGregor brags about that feature on their X boats. Scotty |
