Just trying to help. The big problem for Bubbles though is that all these boats exist OUTside the Matrix. And of course they all cost actual money instead of pretend usenet blowhard money. ![]() Doug...not ONE of those boats listed matched or even came close to the criteria I listed. Either no aft cabins, no swim platforms and so on. Good work, Doug. You proved my point. The 35s5 (at the time of her design) was a rare combo of features and speed. Nowadays such a boat is a lot easier to find...for about twice the price. C&C and Kirie were among the very few other contenders. The 35s5 is essentially umatched for her speed and accomodation, unless you spend much more. I bet there's some odd make boats out there that can do the same...but not easy to find, buy or resell. Thanks again for making my point! RB 35s5 NY |

Either no aft cabins You want a center cockpit boat? ... no swim platforms Every last one had at least a ladder & platform, some had open transoms and/or scoops. Every last one was significantly faster. Good work, Doug. Thank you You proved my point. That you're a lying blowhard who doesn't actually have a boat? DSK |

My lovely CCA-style boat has a low freeboard alongside the cockpit. My 3 y.o. grandson can easily slip over the side into the dink. And we lift my 1 y.o. grandson in with ease. Swim platforms are for power boats and floating docks. g Max |

Swimming in the LIS off a boat is safe and clean. Swimming on beaches is less lean due to sediment contamination. This is one of the reasons we wanted the swim platform as it's a great way to get Thomas acclimated to the water with a higher degree of safety. After performance and the generous cockpit, many owners say the swim platform is a favorite feature. RB 35s5 NY |

After performance and the generous cockpit, many owners say the swim platform is a favorite feature. Francis Chichester, upon returning to England after having spent a night in a port on LIS remarked, (not an exact quote) 'The Americans have such a wonderful sailing ground there, but they've turned it into a cesspool. How unfortunate.' I believe he made that remark in the 50s or 60s. Max |
