Hmmmm?

No, it was the other scenario, as I already explained. Three boats
were in contention coming into the last race. The Bene was in last
place, a few points behind the j30. The first three boats paid no
attention to the bene who probably took a flyer. You do know what
taking a flyer means, don't you? Probably not.

Ooops!

That was Bob, wetting his pants again.

Racers take NO races lightly! If they're in it, they want to win badly.

Sorry, you just don't understand. Racers want to win regattas.
Individual races are not important. You've never raced, how would you
know? I can't count the number of times I've seen a coach berate
someone (me, a few times) for letting the real competition go while
focusing on the wrong boat.

Hell, they want to pass boats they aren't racing! The 35s5 BEAT the C&C
99. It beat the J Boats. and In another link I posted a few days back,
it BEAT his beloved Express 35!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ohhh noooooo!

Gawd, you do go on so. Why do you try so hard to prove you're stupid?
Keep digging, boobie! You're almost to China!

Jeff and Doug claim that the final race in a series is taken less
seriously by racers!!!

I've never met a racer

It seems you could have stopped there and still been accurate.

who EVER took any race lightly. They want to win
everytime and work hard to do better no matter how far ahead they might
be.

BS. Sailboat racers are pragmatic like everyone else. If you already have
five first place finishes in a regatta and no throwout yet, you pack up the
boat and leave for home a bit early. "Mail me my trophy, please."

Jeff, who doesn't own a proper sailboat is now king of the fools! Doug
is a powerboater and still feels the need to chime in like an idiot.

Doug knows more about sailboats and sailing than most here, and waaay more
than you. Of course you make this obvious every time you open your pie
hole.

Amazing!!!!

You are. You truly are.

Poor Booby just shows he knows nothing about racing. I've raced in
hundreds of one design races, and been on race committees for hundreds, if
not thousands more. And I expect Doug has done even more racing than I.

So tell us Bob, if someone has already won the regatta, and the last race
is a throwout, how seriously do you think they take the race? Do you
think he might give the helm to someone else? Let another crew work
foredeck? Do they even bother to start?

Not normally. Apparently Bubbles never noticed how few boats sail the last
race or two of major regattas. Those finishing out of the hardware
generally forego the last race as well.

How about if there are two boats in the lead coming into the last race,
and all of the others are out of it? Do you think that maybe they'll let
the last place boat go off on a flyer the might pay off?

Sorry, booby. The Bene was in last place after 7 races; the fact that the
won the last one doesn't mean squat. Except, of course, that you know
nothing about racing.

Go easy on him, Jeff. He *believes* he bought a race boat.

Doesn't mean squat? You mean you can't learn anything from a 35s5
beating or even close behind a C&C 99? That's too bad. Here's what it
tells me...you go right ahead and let me know if this is wrong: The
35s5 will be a fun and quick boat for cruising and day sailing the LIS
areas, be faster than most cruisers and keep pace with a lot of fast
boats to boot. You only have to talk to owners...and you're welcome
to...to see how many races the 35s5 wins. You're all welcome to ask
owners via the Sailnet or google Beneteau lists.
But something tells me you won't want to do that. You sure won't like
hearing how well the 35s5 does. Everyone got REAL quiet when I posted
the following:

"The Charleston Ocean Racing Association's annual Witches' Brew regatta

was raced in the harbor Oct. 30. As with its Femme Fatale race in the
spring, CORA requires a female skipper for each boat in the Witches'
Brew. Though Charleston has produced many outstanding female sailors,
as noted often in this column, the big boats seem to almost always have

men at the helm. These two races do a lot to promote women's
participation and demonstrate their skills. Deb Campeau skippered
Hoodoo, a J/109, to first place in the A fleet. Caroline Byrd was at
the helm of the J/24 Footloose and won the B fleet. Kristy Kowert
skippered Andiamo, a Beneteau 35s5, to first place in C, and Judy
Fair-child was at the helm of Absolu, another 35s5 Beneteau, and took
the honors in D fleet."

I'm sorry that this represents the type of sailors you know. It's just
not the case here. My friends love racing and can't get enough. The
last thing they ever want to do is head home early.
What a sad, sad, very sad attitude your "sailors" have.

Bob even races boats that are tied up in their slips. And
sometimes he wins.

Everyone got REAL quiet when I posted the following:

Everyone was quiet because they fell asleep. Who ever heard of that
"regatta" 5 boats in it's class! After 2 weeks of searching the web
you came up with a 35s5 "winning" a nothing event. Any results from
some major events Boobie? Key West Race Week, Chi-Mac, Annapolis Race
Week, Screwpile Regatta, Block Island? From the 20 or so score cards
that others have posted the 35s5 can't even win a club race. Most of
the time it can't even finish ahead of the fleet that started 5 minutes
after it did. Maybe you'll do Block Island next summer and finish
ahead of the pack. That will surely shut everyone up.

35s5 ........... end of the pack!
