So Katy

It's nice to have a boat thats more than a weekend toy costing money
isn't it?

No more School Tax, no more property tax, a home that rocks you to
sleep.

Take 10 min to go sailing, great sunsets and sunrises on the water
every day.

Only us liveaboards enjoy the true value a fine sailing vessel
provides.

I think I'll stroll the decks now, perhaps feed the birds and have
another cup of fresh Hills Brothers coffee up on the forecastle.
Charlie the crab man should be making his rounds anytime now. Going to
see if he has a soft shells for us.

Joe
RedCloud the perfect home

Bob Crantz November 29th 05 04:27 PM

So Katy

Don't forget no kids, no lathe, no mill, no MIG/TIG, no extensive library,
no appreciating asset (in some markets houses have doubled in value over the
last 7 years), boats are more work than houses, a large yacht is smaller
than an efficiency condo in square footage, etc.

Dock fees are higher than school/property taxes.

A boat is not a house. On lives aboard to travel, not to remain in one
place.

Amen!

So Katy

So you should endlessy wander?

You travel to visit and discover, to broaden your horizon, not to
wander forever towards one.

If you want to invest in a house to make money then thats fine, but
the bubble is bursting in realestate Bob.

Living on a sailboat is about freedom.

Bob Crantz November 29th 05 04:55 PM

So Katy

Freedom to do something

or

Freedom from something?

So far you have only described your paradise as the absense of things. The
absense of hatred is not love, the absense of anger is not happiness.

Absense is emptiness, emptiness is nothing.

What is it about being a live aboard that fullfills?

How does being a live aboard represent your highest values in life?

So Katy

Joe,

Is living on a Sailboat really about "Freedom" or "Free Loading?"

Joe November 29th 05 05:10 PM

So Katy

Freedom to do both and take my home with me.

You assume I miss long commutes, yard work, fast food, routines, solid
ground.

I'm fullfilled by perfect sunsets off the bow, the sound of the waves,
the smell of the water, unblocked breezes, and having the ability to
provide everything I need from my home.

I'm at the perfect marina on a lake where lubbers pay 2 million
dollars to have a view as nice as mine.

My highest value or goal in life is to provide and protect my family
and enjoy being with the people I like. Living aboard gives me more
freedom to do that. I've had the land with barns full of stuff, and
it's just that .....stuff. Some people get so much stuff they become
slaves to the stuff. Jesus did not have a bunch of stuff did he Bob?

Joe

Joe November 29th 05 05:14 PM

So Katy

Freedom.

A good Sailboat with the proper equipment needs nothing but the winds
and a sharp crew to provide everything a sailor needs to survive. Is it
free loading? Maybe, but thats why god gave us wind and the oceans.

Joe

Bob Crantz November 29th 05 05:28 PM

So Katy

Jesus was not a live aboard either.

You'll be sailing on lava soon.

It seems being a live aboard satisfies you by providing things from without
rather than things from within.

Capt Neal is the only man who understands what sailing truly is. Maybe
Mooron.

Those two won't be sailing in lava, but you will!

That Ms Terry is the devil!

Amen!

Oh..... the things from within. Well every bone in my body is happier
afloat then ashore. Is that what you mean Bob?

2 sad puppets in 1 Commodore Crantz?

Joe

Bob Crantz November 29th 05 05:51 PM

So Katy

But what is it that makes you happy?

Is being afloat true happiness?

What does it fullfill?

What is it that you are trying to fullfill? Think on the abstract level.

So far all you have managed to do is describe duty to family, escape or
evasion and lesser degrees of suffering.

What is YOUR purpose, your core sense of life and how is it fullfilled?

Praise!
