Default Doug's Sailboat

Doug now claims he bought a sailboat in Florida and it's much nicer and
more expensive than our 35s5. Hey, if that's true, GREAT! It would be
awesome if Doug bought himself what he wanted instead of that
powerboat.
So? Let's hear all about her, Doug. Did you get a cruiser or racer?
Little of both as we did?

The truth is out there. In some cases, WAY out there.

A LITTLE OF BOTH is right.

Can't find a place to stow a 6 pack of beer while cruising, in other
words a cruiser without any room for needed supplies to cruise, And a
racer with a GET THIS has a MAX 7.3 knot hull speed
.......................Bwahahahahahahahahahah that aint racing thats
SLOW.

According to the Beneteau group, owners have made 14 knots on 35s5's
and the newer 36.7 has gone even faster. Your boat is incapable of
surfing in such conditions and would rarely exceed hull speed as the
35s5 can do with ease. I like your boat, Joe. She's a nice home, sure
and steady. But performance is not what she's about.

That seems possible but it's not going to happen in any
conditions *you* will ever sail in.

and the newer 36.7 has gone even faster.

Which is relevent how, exactly?
It's a totlly different boat with a totally different
design, bigger & more powerful and about 3X the cost of the
boat you claim to have bought.

How is that? On several occasions we had the C&C 32 over 10 knots on a
reach in 25-35 knots or air coming off of small swells. Wasn't hard at
all and the 35s5 will go faster.

and the newer 36.7 has gone even faster.

Seriously? Okay, well I'm trying to explain to Joe that his metal
motorsailor is not likely to even match the ultimate speeds that racer
cruisers are able to routinely achieve. This past summer I sailed a J35
and we blasted beyond 11 and 12 knots on numerous occasions. It aint
gonna happen on Joe's boat often, if ever.
Do you agree?

Nice boat but utterly impractical for LIS where one risks cancer and worse
every time a drop of foam splashes one. For LIS one needs a frog boat with
plenty of freeboard designed for french waters and thus suitable for
cesspools around the world.

Well, sure. What's the "practical" use of any sailboat? This
one is good for only one thing... having fun while sailing.
I mean, it doesn't even have a stern platform fer gosh sake!

Maybe that explains why Boobsie always goes "sailing" with a
Depends on his head?
