Doug now claims he bought a sailboat in Florida and it's much

nicer and
more expensive than our 35s5.

he did? I didn't see a claim like that.

He did in fact make that claim, Scotty....more than once in fact. I
can't imagine what the cost of his trawler has to do with the cost of
our sailboats. My wife's diamond rings cost more than Doug's trawler.
Does that comparison make any sense?

I'm refering to the other times Doug has seen fit to let us all know
that his Trawler was expensive. If you don't remember, just ask him. I
bet it was costly. So was my SUV and so was my original Day the Earth
Stood Still poster. I'm just not sure how the cost of his trawler
relates to our sailboats. Then again Loco said I couldn't afford his
Lincoln LS, even though we paid more for our SUV. It must be the new
math. These guys are all worried about what stuff costs. You paid
little for your boat and mine cost me nothing because my wife paid for
it. Does that mean we'll have less fun due to their "cost" to us? I
guess Loco and Doug must think so.

I dunno - 7 knots carrying a 2-inch layer of "fecal material" from sailing
LIS sounds fast to me.

According to the Beneteau group, owners have made 14 knots on 35s5's....

In a cesspool? With layer upon layer of fecal "mud" sticking to the hull?

Nice boat but utterly impractical for LIS where one risks cancer and worse
every time a drop of foam splashes one. For LIS one needs a frog boat with
plenty of freeboard designed for french waters and thus suitable for
cesspools around the world.
