Default Our New Boat

After a short delay due to high winds, we finally got back to New York
at last. 4 days in Florida, a cultural wasteland, was all we could
stand. Even when we drove through Miami and several other high profile
areas we noted the heavy poverty everywhere. Suzanne mentioned how few
nice cars were around compared to SF or NY.
Well, I motored (Sorry, Scotty! No mast!!!) the boat into the slings
and up she went and then onto the truck. We secured everything, put the
mast in the cradle and off she went. She was supposed to be here
tomorrow, but I told the driver not to miss his Turkey day, so she'll
come after the weekend. It all went smoothly. Somehow I missed that the
Uniden radio was the wireless mic type and in a bag of odds and ends
was the mike. Cool.
For those looking interested in such things....cost to decommision:
620.00. Cost to haul and load: 150. Cost to truck from St. Petersburg
FL to City Island, NY: 2890.00. Not too bad considering the vessel we
got in the bargain.

Boat in the slings...

So that's it...our new boat saga is at an end...and some great sailing
days are ahead! I'll have our website revised shortly. Our boat has a
custom teak interior, upgraded cushions and some other factory built
interior mods. Tall rigs with the WK were also a special order.

Happy Thanksgiving!

WTF... I've found lots of cultural hot spot thru out Florida.

Guess you do not fit in with hicks like Hemmingway, Ponce deLeon, Mel
Fisher, Walt Disney, and the upscale folks in Miami and Palm Beach.(the
most expensive realestate in America)

It's a pit and cultural wasteland to snobbish NYer trash like you only.

BTW, Bob, the guy couldn't deliver it tomorrow even if you wanted him

Actually, it was be delivered today. But he might have been unable to
get back in time for the Holdiay, so I said "okay." I didn't want to
hang around the yard waiting today anyway.

But you wrote, '' She was supposed to be here

And BTW, he couldn't have delivered it this afternoon, either. Know
why?

That's because I got in last night and typed that message, but didn't
have the pic posted yet. He could have delivered today as far as I
know. There was some dice over the NYS Permit, now resolved. My yard
was standing by and we had a Cal 35 roll in today from Maryland. Our
boat is now in North Carolina and will be here shortly. Don't believe
it? Pics will be posted Tuesday.

Nope.

On the way back from Wilmington NC , I stopped at the Rocky Mt.
truckstop last night, there was a Bendy 35.5 on a trailer, in the back
lot, the hookers were using it. I could smell it from 100' away!

Never doubted you, Bob. Can't wait for the pics.

Tall rigs with the WK were also a special order.

There's a reason for that. It's because no dealer would order that
stupid combination.
