After a short delay due to high winds, we finally got back to New York
at last. 4 days in Florida, a cultural wasteland, was all we could
stand. Even when we drove through Miami and several other high profile
areas we noted the heavy poverty everywhere. Suzanne mentioned how few
nice cars were around compared to SF or NY.
Well, I motored (Sorry, Scotty! No mast!!!) the boat into the slings
and up she went and then onto the truck. We secured everything, put the
mast in the cradle and off she went. She was supposed to be here
tomorrow, but I told the driver not to miss his Turkey day, so she'll
come after the weekend. It all went smoothly. Somehow I missed that the
Uniden radio was the wireless mic type and in a bag of odds and ends
was the mike. Cool.
For those looking interested in such things....cost to decommision:
620.00. Cost to haul and load: 150. Cost to truck from St. Petersburg
FL to City Island, NY: 2890.00. Not too bad considering the vessel we
got in the bargain.

So that's it...our new boat saga is at an end...and some great sailing
days are ahead! I'll have our website revised shortly. Our boat has a
custom teak interior, upgraded cushions and some other factory built
interior mods. Tall rigs with the WK were also a special order.
Happy Thanksgiving!
