It is a very nice boat to sail for a few hours and then return to the
dock and plug in. I have no problem with your doing that, but most people here think that's a waste of $60K. Oh, Jeff....you've really raised your skirt this time! Jeff, you're one ignorant crazy fellow! The 35s5 has more room below than a Caliber 35 and about the same room as a Island Packet 35, and much more room than a classic established cruiser like a Pearson 365. She has plenty of storage, more than the Caliber and Pearson in fact and probably as much as the IP if you don't carry 9 bags of racing sails. Her galley is larger than the one on our C&C we're we cooked plenty of meals without an oven. Of course the 35s5 has an oven. In fact the 35s5 has nearly as much room below as a Catalina 34 or 36, except the aft cabin is smaller. The 35s5's bunks are still larger and there's more headroom as well. The 35s5 also has the biggest head of the above boats and the largest single storage space which can hold sails and a dinghy and still have room for a person to sleep! Under sail the 35s5 is a performance boat, it's true. Uncomfortable? That's relative. On a 6-7 knot day in 90 degrees you'll be motoring those boats above (and so will you on the PDQ) while we sail. As for the S/AD, I suggest you check her with the tall rig option which we have. I wonder who else thinks you can't take a trip in a 35s5? I guess Loco's boat couldn't either, nor could Donal's, nor could my friend's J30 (which has sailed to Florida and back). Jeff, you're truly a self exposed powerboater...and I aint kidding. I offered Doug the chance to find a BETTER choice and he failed. So would you if you gave it a try. I'm sorry, Jeff. We test sailed the boat and we know how she'll be used. She performs better than your multi, especially here on the sound. She's more fun to sail and has all the room we need for now and the next few years. No one here has a better performing boat per foot and that's a fact. No one here has a nicer boat and that's a fact. She's basically better at everything....just like her captain. Robert B 35s5...now it's settled...the best boat! NY |
