Basically you had a hole in the tiller that a pin dropped into, was very quick to pull out. I suppose you could make something similar using an adjustable telescoping pole. I saw a cool deal on an old wooden boat one time...There was a bronze plate on the deck under the tiller, maybe a foot long, with 'teeth' sticking up. Then there was a small bronze flange on the tiller that would slot into any of the notches. Seahag |
