I don't think Thomas will ever step on a NEW yacht as long as he live
with you. It will always be an OLD, USED Yacht

Well, I own one of the newest boats here. And we are planning to buy a
very recent boat, such as a Beneteau 50 something less than 5 years old
for our liveaboard. Not new...but reasonably modern.
Do you feel it's important for Thomas to have a new boat?

Crap, he hasen't even got the present one and he's already posting
about the next one. Personally I think when you move into the 50 foot
range you should be looking at something better than a Beneteau. I
guess they have 7 foot bunks and a great swim platform.

Loco, Beneteau has a semi-custom line of boats in that size range which
are a very high build spec.

The big Bendys make great dock condos.

You've never been aboard one of the Flagship series, Scotty Potty. They
are very fast sailing designs and are nothing like the Oceanus series.
Look at this! I'm trying to tell a guy with a Siedlemann about
boats!!!! Kinda like talking about stage 3 exhausts with a guy who owns
a Kia.

Sigh....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Nutsy,

Thomas could care less! It's his Daddy. Nutsy there is nothing like
stepping aboard; "Your own new boat!" New, everything new. New lines,
new Sails, new winches, new head, new bilge pump, new fresh water tank
with new pumps and plumbing. New Electric panel and wiring, New standing
rigging;---- everything new and un-used.

Hope some day you'll discover that day! In the mean time, I'll wish you
well with your grand plan of obsolescence. Anything that gets you your
own vessel and out on the water is worth while. I hope 2006 will see you
sailing once again.

Ole Thom

I don't agree, Thom. New boats are generally a bad investment and a lot
of hassle to get ready. Even my wealthiest friends prefer a lightly use
boat loaded with nice gear and debugged along with a market value
either increasing or holding. It's no different than real estate. We
made 4K on the Pearson and 16K on the C&C 32. I'll make 15-20K on the
Beneteau. Buy low and sell high...and go sailing the whole time!
