Gee the Express 30 is a quickie upwind in light air (with an
oven on board) and the designer had the foresight and brains to design a proper semi-balanced rudder. Oh, and if you didn't like the wheel you could have bought the boat with a tiller. We sail a J30 on a regular basis. My wife and the girls have NO problem with the tiller even in fresh conditions. My advice to you is to actually get some experience on the J30 for more than a few rides and learn to trim a sail for proper balance! The J/30 balances like a champ once trimmed/reefed early in heavier stuff. You also might want to get in shape. If Suzanne can handle the tiller, you obviously have a problem with conditioning. Who said my new boat has a wheel? Hmmmmm? Poor Loco! You're about to be one unhappy fellow...not that you're happy now!!! Bwahahahahahahahahahha! RB |
