Express 30 Questions?
Hey Boob, J Boat lover. If you knew anything you would know that J
Boats are considered by most people who like to sail fast and professionals like sailmakers as pigs. There is a saying among the knowledgeable: "The only thing a J Boat can beat is another J Boat" J Boat calls their 105 a sport boat. Hell, it's a heavy pig that is sailed by idiots who spend most of their time crashing into each other. Real sport boat owners consider the boat and the class a joke. But your the guy who once posted that you were "looking for some J Boat excitement" That statement alone continues to prove you know nothing about boats and that you would fit right in as a J Boat owner. |

More J30 facts: Lack of sail area, slow upwind in light air. Can't go
upwind in a chop. So many owners were upset with performance that the class went with an oversized genny (163%) compared to every other boat that races outside the Matrix. That tiller that the Boob loves so much is connected to a barn door rudder that gives you the feeling your driving a bus. And in a breeze you need to be a gorrilla to drive the thing. Gee the Express 30 is a quickie upwind in light air (with an oven on board) and the designer had the foresight and brains to design a proper semi-balanced rudder. Oh, and if you didn't like the wheel you could have bought the boat with a tiller. In fact the boat is easly converted back to tiller once the wheel is installed. |

Notice how he doesn't mention how fast the J boat is since he got
shot down on that one? Scotty "rgnmstr" wrote in message oups.com... Yup, the ports stay in as well. What? It also has the superior rig .. Ain't no way the J30s rig is "superior" I already told you they all fail at the spreaders. |

I almost forgot. The keel is off center on every J30 ever made and it
got worse as the model run went along. The great J Boat factory never cared enough to fix the problem. So every J30 is way faster on one tack than the other unless the owner spent big $ to have the keel fixed. There's a caring factory. |

Oh, I almost forgot. The J30 is the only thirty footer that I know of
with a 2 cyl inboard diesel that uses a 3/4" prop shaft insted of a 1" shaft to save a few bucks. So much whip in that thing you think your on the African Queen. |

I really like J-Boats latest selling tactic. Lifelines are optional.

Hey Boob, J Boat lover. If you knew anything you would know that J
Boats are considered by most people who like to sail fast and professionals like sailmakers as pigs. Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!! Good lord! You're boat rates as BARELY faster (and it won't beat a J30 boat for boat anyway), BUT it's fun and the J-isn't? Ohhhhh, okay! Never heard a real racer call another race boat a "pig." they tend to have a mature view of boats and appreciate what J-baot has done for sailboat racing with designs like the J24. Loco, you're a sad little man who THINKS he knows about boats, but in truth you only have some weak opinions and an VERY old design easily eclipsed by better boats. RB |

We sail a J30 on a regular basis. My wife and the girls have NO problem with the tiller even in fresh conditions. My advice to you is to actually get some experience on the J30 for more than a few rides and learn to trim a sail for proper balance! The J/30 balances like a champ once trimmed/reefed early in heavier stuff. You also might want to get in shape. If Suzanne can handle the tiller, you obviously have a problem with conditioning. Who said my new boat has a wheel? Hmmmmm? Poor Loco! You're about to be one unhappy fellow...not that you're happy now!!! Bwahahahahahahahahahha! RB |

Hmmm, my friend's Yanmar has been ultra reliable and never had an issue. Then again, he actually uses the sails to move it. Thanks for tipping your hand. I'm sure you're the type to motor out to where there's wind, motor over to where there's more and motor back rather than sail. It doesn't surprise me that you're interested in shaft diameter! Hoooooh ahhhh! RB |
