I think it might have been an attempt to surf, which is fine, except that
you don't do that if the waves are breaking. Usually, if you see surfers
there, it's not the right time.

I'm trying to get more info.

Not surprising, it looked like the boat got really hammered.


Turns out someone I know knows this guy, and I'm trying to find out.
Obviously, he made had a big lapse in judgement. I just can't imagine
why. It's pretty obvious when there are breaking waves.


Maybe he was in close, trying to avoid an unfavorable current. Maybe he
thought he could get a boost by surfing those waves. Maybe there was a
really beautiful woman on shore he wanted to get a closer look at.
