You'd be wrong. It's plenty deep. It was the breaking waves.
-- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Joe" wrote in message oups.com... Yeah it's not to bright to surf next to a rockey shore. Im sure his mast was tore off due to a shallow hard bottom. Yachtsea with dice on the side was fitting, he rolled the dice on that one an has a major bad day. He was lucky not to have pitch poled. If your going to surf you better have a boat that can plane with a fast to rise bow, or you better have a full heavy keel. Joe |

Where exactly is it?
Id like to look at a chart, Seems after it rolled it was right up on the rocks. You saying the bottom is more a canyon than a hill? Joe |

It's just off the south stanchion of the bridge... between that an Ft.
Point. I've sailed there before, but not with breaking waves. It looks scary either way, but it's doable in good conditions. Of course, you don't want to get right next to the rocks or the stanchion for obvious reasons, but the center is fine for small boats. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Joe" wrote in message oups.com...
