I'm sure it's possible there was a second wave. That area can get pretty
rough pretty fast. Turns out it's a bit deeper than I thought... 27 just outside then over 100 inside. Rocks on one side the stanchion on the other. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com wrote in message ... Might there have been a second breaking wave that wasn't captured on film? The reason I ask, images 22 thru 27 show the boat dismasted but riding high in the water (especially 26 &27). Transom cutout appears to be high enough that it shouldn't be shipping water aboard. Granted, people climbing aboard through it might be enough to put it under. A second wave seems a likely possibility too though. I'm hoping to get more info, since I think a friend of mine knows the boat owner. Thanks, see what you can find out. The decision to be there in the first place makes no sense at all. And then sinking the boat by shoving the transom cutout under makes it a doubly dumb scenario... Were they drunk? On drugs? Stolen boat (joyride)? Insurance fraud? .... enquiring minds want to know. Thanks, Rick |
