Default What is a good set of sails?

For a 42+ foot Ketch?

Why?

Thanks for your sailing related information!

I would think it depends upon what kind of sailing you are planning on
doing, and what budget you have in mind.

Expensive sails are 'good'. But they might not be the right choice for your
vessel.

More info, please. Where are you sailing. How much sunshine? How often do
they get used? Long distances? Racing, if so what kind? What sort of
cover or protection do you have for the main? Roller furling jib? What is
your budget? On and on......

Joe,

I have a Hild 150%, Kappa cut, 10-40 regulator head sail and a North
fully batten, free footed Main and I'm pleased with both. My original
sails were UK and severed me very well. I believe any of the major sail
Lofts will give you the sail that you want if you discuss what you want
with them.

That is what I do and then I select the best price of the ones I've
gotten quotes from.

If you are looking for Sails for your Ketch for Cruising, I would check
North's Coastal. I would also check for quotes around Boat Show times
for price.

Don't be afraid to mix and match Lofts if you know what you want.

I love my Hild Furling head sail. It is damn near Bullet proof. If you
aren't using a furler I'd certainly consider a North seamless head.

I'd recommend a diesel powered, 50hp, sail for your sailboat.
